Ingredients
- Rotini pasta – 8 ounces
- Canned tuna (drained) – 2 cans (5 ounces each)
- Celery (chopped) – 1 cup
- Red onion (finely chopped) – 1/2 cup
- Frozen peas (thawed) – 1 cup
- Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – to taste
Instructions
- Cook the rotini pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions (8-10 minutes) until al dente, then drain and rinse under cold water.
- Chop the celery and finely chop the red onion. Soak the onion in cold water if a milder flavor is desired. Thaw the frozen peas.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, drained tuna, chopped celery, red onion, and thawed peas. Mix gently.
- Add mayonnaise, salt, and pepper to the mixture, and stir until evenly coated. Optionally, add lemon juice for extra flavor.
- Cover and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
