Ingredients

  • Rotini pasta – 8 ounces
  • Canned tuna (drained) – 2 cans (5 ounces each)
  • Celery (chopped) – 1 cup
  • Red onion (finely chopped) – 1/2 cup
  • Frozen peas (thawed) – 1 cup
  • Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the rotini pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions (8-10 minutes) until al dente, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  2. Chop the celery and finely chop the red onion. Soak the onion in cold water if a milder flavor is desired. Thaw the frozen peas.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, drained tuna, chopped celery, red onion, and thawed peas. Mix gently.
  4. Add mayonnaise, salt, and pepper to the mixture, and stir until evenly coated. Optionally, add lemon juice for extra flavor.
  5. Cover and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
